Cody and Brandon
In Seattle, if you wait for a perfectly sunny day to take photos, you might be waiting quite a long time. With this in mind, the ever adventurous Cody and Brandon met me on a drizzly, windy, gloomy-as-all-get-out Sunday. My fears that this would create a less than exuberant mood for our shoot were ill-founded; no matter the weather, these two are all smiles around each other. Moral of the story: fall in love and go play in the rain.
(The last photo was actually taken in the warm indoors, in Brandon's rather awesome shop, Clone Press.)

Because it's gloomy outside...
In a few hours I have to bundle up and mentally prepare for the cold. I don't mind, because I'm going to be doing some photos with two awesome people. But still, some images of sunnier days can't hurt.

By the Sea Shore
Some film shots, using an old Nikon manual with an equally old 50mm f/1.2 lens. I love that camera. These were taken at the beach at Olympic National Park, during a trip with my sister.

A Few Days in Yakima Valley
Back in September I had the privilege (and pleasure) of spending 2 weekends photographing different vineyards, winemakers, and growers in Yakima Valley. It was an amazing experience, full of gracious hosts.
Talking to the incredibly talented people who grow the grapes and make the wine, tasting different varietals straight off the vines, and seeing parts of the valley I wouldn't have otherwise, for a wine lover (and novice) like myself, it was sort of ridiculously delightful.
To learn more about these wonderful wineries, go to http://www.wineyakimavalley.org/.
